Physical cards ship to the cardholder after you create the card. Include a shipping object with the recipient’s address and phone number when you create it.

Choose a shipping method

Set the method in the shipping object based on speed, cost, and whether you need tracking:
  • Tracked methods provide real-time tracking: express (FedEx), international (DHL), and apcTracked (APC).
  • Untracked methods are more economical: standard and uspsInternational (USPS), and apc (APC).
The method must match the destination country: When you omit method, Rain ships US cards standard and non-US cards international. For prices and delivery times by method, see Shipping costs.

Address requirements

  • Shipping addresses must use Latin characters, numbers, and basic punctuation (. , # ' / & ( ) ° -). Romanize addresses that contain other characters, such as Chinese, Arabic, Cyrillic, or accented letters like é or ñ, before you submit them.
  • The postal code can be at most 9 characters.
  • A shipping address can’t be changed once the order is submitted. If a card was ordered with the wrong address, cancel it and issue a new card with the corrected address.

Personalize the card

Set the name embossed on the card with displayName (26 characters maximum; letters, numbers, spaces, periods, and hyphens). By default, Rain uses the cardholder’s full name.
The cardholder’s first and last name must contain only Latin characters (A-Z, a-z, spaces, and hyphens) for physical card personalization. Names with non-Latin characters are not supported on the embossed card.
